LOWA Sportschuhe GmbH was founded in 1923 in Jetzendorf by Lorenz Wagner and is the home of the company today. Although the company has become increasingly international, LOWA has chosen to stay true to its roots and keep its home base in Jetzendorf.
To LOWA, the production operation in Germany embodies the link between a decades-long company tradition and values such as a commitment to quality, exceptional service, the joy of innovation and continuous modernisation. About 280 employees work in Jetzendorf today. In addition to production, the town is home to the research and development department and the central administrative office. The production and administrative buildings have been upgraded many times to meet new needs. The last expansion work was done in 2002. In 2021, the company rented office space in neighbouring Petershausen. 2015 saw the installation of the first photovoltaic system; since 2022, photovoltaic systems have supplied around 45 percent of the company’s electricity.
